So close at Interprovincial

The Manawatu Wanganui mens team have come so close to making the final of the Interprovincial on Saturday. After qualifying 2nd in their pool they faced Auckland in a semi final match, which finished 2.5 all at the end of regulation play. The match between Trent Munn and Auckland's Johnny Tynan was squared, so they were required to go into a sudden death playoff. The end of that match was very tense, with Trent winning the 17th with a great birdie to go into the final hole one up. Unfortunately an uncharacteristic missed putt, which lipped out, on the final hole resulted in a bogey, and the match being all squared. The players headed to the 10th hole in sudden death. Trent narrowly missed his birdie putt, and Johnny clinched the match with a birdie putt from approx 10 foot, to put his Auckland team into the final, against Otago. Auckland won the final 5 - 0.

Other results in the semi final had Regan McConaghty, and Liam Finlayson losing their matches, and Tyler Hodge and Tyler Wood both winning.

We wish to congratulate all the players and Manager, Boy Manunui, for making it through to the semi finals and fighting so hard throughout the week to put themselves in a position where winning became a possibility. Fantastic representatives for the Manawatu Wanganui region.
