The Manawatu Wanganui Masters team have had a solid start to this years Interprovincial in Timaru. A great start with a run of 3 straight wins against Otago, Southland and Aorangi, was ended yesterday with a 3/2 loss to Waikato. They still remain in the hunt for a the title, but are relying on other matches going our way, and remaining unbeaten for the remainder of the event.
Manawatu Wanganui take on Canterbury this morning, which is a big match, if they want to stay in contention. Canterbury have a strong line up, and are currently near the top of the standings, with 3 wins and a half against Auckland.
We have another tough opponent this afternoon in Bay of Plenty, who are the only team still on maximum points with 4 wins from 4. It will be a tough day, but 2 wins would put us in a very strong position heading into the final day on Friday. On Friday they have Auckland and Tasman.
