The Manawatu Wanganui Women's team had their final hit out in preparation for the Toro interprovincial being played next week, against Taranaki at Te Ngutu Golf Club, near Hawera yesterday. After recently thrashing Hawkes Bay, the women continued their great run with a dominant 10 - 2 win against the Taranaki team.
This years team is probably the best lineup we have had for sometime, and could be a realistic challenger at the Interprovincial being played next week at Waitikiri Golf Club in Christchurch. Teenagers Tara Raj & Zhouyi Hu will play in the top 2 spots followed by the experience of Brydie Hodge and Lisa Herbert, with another teenager, Lily Griffin playing at number 5. Casey Chettleburgh is the travelling reserve and Judy Seccombe and Lynne MacDonald will manage the team. We wish them all the best for a successful week down south.
