Welcome to all players in the Joe Kells and PN Classic
Thank you for entering this tournament which was last played in 2010. Until that time the event had been a regular fixture on the golfing calendar since 1967. This is the 50th year since its inception.

Just some notes for the day to help things run smoothly:

A draw has been made and the event will be played in threesomes. The draw can be found on the Palmerston North Golf Club website or the Manawatu/Wanganui Golf website from the morning of Thursday 22 June. It is likely you will get an email from NZ Golf advising of your tee times.

If anyone needs to withdraw from the event you must contact Palmerston North Golf Club on 06 351 0700.

Please register and pay your $45 in cash to the starter when you arrive. As the event is being held closest to the shortest day of the year we have decided to bring the tee time back 15 minutes for both rounds. Tee off will be a shotgun start at 7.45 and the registrations start from 7.00am. The afternoon round begins at 12.15. You will be given both your cards for the two rounds when you register on Sunday. It is very important that you use the correct card for each round.

If there is a heavy frost and tee off is delayed substantially then it is likely that the event may be reduced to an 18 hole tournament. A call on this will be made on the day if necessary.

Please ensure you are familiar with the local rules. These can be found on your card and on the main notice board downstairs. We expect to have a rules official available on the day however if there is any doubt while playing then play a second ball along with first and record both scores for the hole. This will be reviewed by the match committee at the completion of your round whose decision will be final.

We have over 80 players in the field on Sunday and all tees will be used for the shotgun start. Apologies in advance if you have a walk ahead of you to the morning tee however we have tried to reverse that for the afternoon round. We need to keep the field moving as darkness will be upon us by 5.00pm.

A bagged lunch is available after the first round. You will be given a ticket with your cards and this will be available in the main clubhouse.

When you have completed your round the signed cards are to be returned to the office upstairs to the left of the main entrance door.

We anticipate that the formal part of the day will take place in the main clubhouse at approximately 6.00pm.
