The final stage of Australasian PGA qualifying school got underway yesterday in Melbourne, and our local players all had solid starts to the event. Tyler Hodge was the best of the Kiwi's with a 3 under par to be tied 13th, while Josh Munn shot 1 under and Lachie McDonald even par. Former Wanganui player Nick Gillespie is also back at qualifying school and shot 1 under.
To qualify as a full member with exemption status players need to finish in the top 40, and players finishing 41 - 55, can apply to be a member however will have limited playing status.
With close to half of the 80 player field breaking par on day one, players will likely need to shoot low scores to finish inside the top 40.
