Women look to finish strongly

The Manawatu Wanganui Womens team after getting off to such a positive start with 3 straight wins, unfortunately could not produce the magic against the highly ranked North Harbour and Bay of Plenty teams yesterday. They went down to Harbour 5 - 0, and lost to BOP 4 - 1.

The young team however should still hold their heads high, and try their best to secure wins in their final pool match today against Northland, which would secure 3rd in their division, and a playoff tomorrow for 5th and 6th placings. However, a loss against Northland would drop them further down the rankings.

Bay of Plenty and North Harbour, have both secured playoff spots in that division, and they battle today to see which team finishes on top.

Canterbury will likely go through as the top team in division 1, however the other semi place will be decided between Auckland and Waikato as they do battle today. That match could go down to the wire.
