Manawatu Wanganui players finished high up in the results at the Kapi Tareha in Napier over the weekend. Lachie McDonald finished 2nd at even par over the four rounds. The runner way leader was Hastings player Stuart Duff, who some people may remember as a left arm spin bowler for Central Districts from 1985 - 1995, where he took over 200 wickets and scored over 3,000 runs. Duff shot 8 under par over the four rounds at Napier, which include 2 rounds of 5 under par 67.
Tied for third at 9 over par were Manawatu clubmates Josh Sedgwick and Trent Munn. Munn is making a bit of a return to golf after some time out of the game since helping Manawatu Wanganui win the Toro in 2013. Josh Sedgwick is looking to make his first Toro team this year, and so far is doing enough to make the selectors really take note.
Manawatu player Regan McConaghty also competed but did not have his best weekend finishing in 11th spot.
