Castlecliff win the B Grade Pennant

Castlecliff Golf Club will be eligible for direct promotion to A Grade for 2016 after going through the B Grade competition unbeaten this year. In the last round played at Hawkestone, Castlecliff easily won 8 - 1 over Waiouru.

Hawkestone finished second, ahead of Tawhero who shaded Linton Camp 5-4. Rangitikei finished fifth by beating Rangatira 7-2. Hawkestone were defaulted to at home by Waimarino, who could not get a team together to compete in the final round.

Castlecliff have had a formidable top 2 for most of the season with 2014 Interprovincial rep Tyler Lock and 2013 Interprovincial rep Hayden Ring. Ring moved to Wellington last year, but made himself available to Castlecliff this year, which was great to see. Lock has just recently headed overseas with family, and will spend a year competing in various tournaments, including pay to play professional events.

It will be interesting to see how well Castlecliff manages the step up in 2016 against the A Grade teams, Castlecliff were relegated from A grade in 2009.
