Hodge finishes 2nd, shares Under 17 title

Final Round Wrap.
Drama a plenty at St Andrews as the Under 19 championship went to a three way playoff after an amazing final three holes. Tyler finished par, bogey, birdie, Sam An finished par, birdie, bogey and Owen Burgess finished birdie, birdie, triple bogey to make it a three way tie. Great birdie Tyler! The resulting playoff saw Owen Burgess birdie the first to win with Tyler  and Sam  An tied for runnerup overall and winners of the Under 17 title. A great tournament and start to the year for our 2010 NZ Representative. Other district players finished further down the feild Click here for final round results/updates

Round 2 Wrap

With one round remaining Tyler Hodge is well placed to capture the North Island Under 19 title at St Andrews Golf Club in Hamilton. Scores of 73 and 70 see him in third position behind Sam An from Auckland and Owen Burgess from Canterbury. He  won the Under 15 title at the same event two years ago.
The remaining district players had a mixed bag. Defending under 17 champion Trent Munn did not back up his 2010 performance shooting 78, 78 to sit 16 shots back. Kaylin Huwyler followed an opening 80 with 75 to sit 41st, Jack Leenards snuck past the cut with 79, 78 but Rhys Harold 83, 76 and Jeff Handcock 82, 80 both missed.
Brydie Hodge was the best of the girls with 80, 84 for 18th overall and 4th in the Under 15's. The remaining players Maraea Durie, Keita Durie and Amber Rose Thompson-Newth all finished at the tail end of the feild.
