Marton Golf Club will remain in A grade for the 2015 mens pennant season after a comfortable win over B Grade runners-up Castlecliff. This match eventuated after Manawatu B won the B Grade, but under the current rules cannot have two teams in the same grade. Therefore the second placed B Grade team was able to challenge the bootom placed A Grade team. Unfortunately for Castlecliff they missed out on automatic promotion to A Grade by just 1 individual game after the B Grade round robin. The challenge was made even more difficult for Castlecliff, as Marton get a home course advantage.
The Promotion/Relegation match took place on Sunday 15th June, under the normal foursomes/singles matchplay format. After the morning foursomes Marton were comfortably ahead by 3.5 - 0.5. In the afternoon singles Marton dropped just won match when Alistair Rodd defeated Darrin Arnott 7/5. Nik Maas halved with Craig Osman, and at number 1, Lachie McDonald halved with Tyler Lock. Final result was a 9. 5 - 2.5 win to Marton.
